German Wedding Customs
It’s fun to incorporate customs from other countries into your wedding day. If a woman or man, the German heritage, it would be good if some of the highlights include the traditional German wedding in your wedding. Many basic concepts are similar to elements of an American marriage, but there are certainly some Germanic customs.
First, a German wedding celebration usually lasts for days, not just in one afternoon. As is common in many European countries, is a civil marriage requirement for legal marriage. The ceremony was at the courthouse in a few days of marriage normally larger church. The civil service is small, with only a couple of witnesses and the bride in a simple dress of a skirt and blouse.
There the night before the wedding in the church, an event called Stag. This German custom involves smashing plates and China as a sign of good luck for the couple. The idea is that these plates are broken, but never married. At the end of the fun, the bride and groom, all the debris and clean them. The stag night is usually transformed into a fun, informal party with friends of the couple, family and neighbors.
Some parts of the church wedding will be familiar to Americans, but some things are different in Germany. One big difference is that groomsmen, the couple went to a product without all the bridesmaids, flower girls, or. Remember that at this stage, the bride and groom already legally married. The religious ceremony is usually on the long side – until half past one – and features a solid mass, a sermon and song.
The bride and groom suit is not so different from what you see, the Americans used a wedding. The bride wears a white wedding dress, even though the trains are often short or omitted. If the bride decides to wear a veil, they will keep him at least until the first dance at the reception. One thing that may surprise many people is that German women usually do not have engagement rings. However, the couple chooses a suitable bride jewelry wedding rings that are worn on the right instead of left. Of course, the bride always wear bridal jewelry such as earrings and a necklace to complement her wedding dress.
As the newlyweds leave the church in Germany, they will be filled in rice. Throwing rice is an ancient symbol of fertility, and the German custom is that each grain of rice that is an unborn child in the bride’s hair sticks. The couple announced their withdrawal from the church in a car with flowers, followed by a procession of guests bound, the white bands around their car antennas. There are lots of happy honking horns and passing traffic is back for good luck.
The wedding ceremony is over the whole night in Germany. The party starts with a cake, pie and coffee, while the pair of portraits of failed marriages. This is achieved through dance, formal dinner and dance until dawn at. By all accounts, wedding receptions German sounds really fun party flowing with games, frying and plenty of beer. The couple’s first dance, by the way, is traditionally a waltz. An interesting German tradition goes, the couple tried to saw a log together. How do they manage the task is to show teamwork, and how they work together on tasks in their marriage.
