Some superstitions claim that a white wedding dress signifies that you have chosen wisely and have a successful marriage. These full-page ads also allowed influences to take into account when designing these elegant gowns, representing the purity and grace of women who use them. The word was out! A white dress was the color to be seen in all the important functions.

Other factors such as the techniques of mass production and out sourcing a cheaper labour market has contributed to a affordable for women to own a special dress for all social situations, and many of these dresses once acquired has been passed down from generation to generation with social needs of the times like the great depression who had to change some spending habits, also as designers such as Coco Channel made a white dress shorter as its appearance. Some women were lacking the financial resources and had to cut the length of the Great Grandmothers original long length dress to have a modern white wedding. Over time better conditions and approval of grandiose weddings and events again and return to the heart resulting in the white dress being  back in fashion along with other important concepts and ideals, and this trend continued throughout the modern society and civilization. Throughout history the white dress is seen as the state of purity, grace and elegance that should be shared at all official and important social events and a white dress today is also an important heirloom handed from one generation to another throughout the family as a honoured tradition.
