Planning For Your Paper Flower Wedding

Planning your paper flower wedding is easy if you follow a few simple suggestions and guidelines. The first thing you need to do is decide what types of flower(s) you want and what color(s). Those two decisions are often the hardest for most brides because when you make your own paper flowers your choices are fairly limitless.

Now that you have the two hardest decisions out of the way you can sit down and start planning your paper flower wedding. Let us start by making a list of what you will need the flowers for:

• Bridal bouquet
• Toss-able bouquet (if you decide to have one)
• Female bridal party bouquets
• Flower girl basket or bouquet
• Bride and female bridal parties hair
• Grooms boutonniere
• Male bridal party boutonnieres
• Corsages and boutonnieres for the parents/grandparents
• The ceremony
• The reception

That should cover pretty much all of the wedding flowers you will need. Now to decide what type of bouquets you want. For the bride there are several to choose from such as; the cascading, traditional in small, medium large or extra large, arm bouquet, Posey bouquet or a creation all your own.

Next is the female bridal parties bouquets and of course whether or not the flower girl will carry a basket of flower petals or a regular bouquet. Then you need to only decide what type and color for the corsages and boutonnieres as they are fairly basic to make.

You will also need to decide if you want to wear flowers in your hair or have your female bridal party wear flowers in their hair also. Sometimes keeping it simple is the best way to go and if the hairstyle does not warrant or look right with flowers then you can skip them.

For the ceremony whether you have it at a church or in your backyard you may want flowers to line the pews or on an alter or both. Often times the bride and groom will go with a simple trellis decorated in flowers. While other times they may choose to go all out and decorate the every chair with a flower and create a huge alter of flowers.

For the reception you can have centerpieces small, medium or large your choice. You can also decorate the cake and gift table with flowers and the entrance way as well as placing a flower on each table setting or using a flower to decorate a candy or thank you gift bag. The amount of flowers you use is up to you!

You can also take the flowers from the ceremony to the reception many brides and grooms find that this saves them a lot of money and time when planning for their paper flower wedding. Recycling is always a great way to go!
